Who are we?

Our organization focuses on the Czech and Slovak communities in London. We have established the organization as mothers of children who not only want their children to keep their mother tongue at the level of native speakers but to create a true community together – For children but also for adults. Our main activity is regular Saturday school and teachings for children from birth to 14 years of age. We also organize events for the whole family during the year, including Easter and Nicholas, Children’s Day, or trips to the sea, museums and London.

What are the main tasks?

Activity 1: Teaching assistant, School section

Temporal frame: 15 hours a week


  • Preparation and support of delivery of a program for school groups including speech therapy.
  • Support in planning of syllabus, planning of individual lessons, research into and preparation of material to be used in classes and at home by children and assisting with teaching or leading individual lessons

Activity 2: School extra Activities, workshops

Temporal frame: 15 hours a week


  • Organizing special events for parents and kids (workshops, camps, theater, pantomime, musical performances).
  • Extra activities to familiarize children with Czech culture, customs and traditions – stories, poems, songs.

Activity 3: Administration and organizing

Temporal frame: 8 hours a week


  • Planning special events and trips, communication in English with local institutions, participation in the project Living Museums and other special projects, help with administration, correspondence, collecting data, work in the library, help with administrative part of the enrollment procedure.

Elementary teaching graduates.

What knowledge and skills can you gain during the internship?

Experience to teach bilingual children , how to work in the team , learn to organize events.
